Chile Slinger BBQ Products - How It Came To Be

First came the smoker, then came the sauce...

Chile Slinger sauces and rubs have been tested and perfected during some 20 years of smoking meat to feed family and friends. The line of products – both those on the market now and those to come in the future – have been a labor of love… a love of barbecuing, of finding the perfect tasting blend and of seeing smiles on the faces of those who enjoy Chile Slinger sauces and rubs.

It all started in 1985 when I purchased my first smoker. It was an 18-inch diameter vertical charcoal smoker with a water pan, two racks and a tiny door on the side. After a few years of trial and error, I was finally able to cook an edible product.

Once I was comfortable smoking meat, the next logical step was to blend my own sauce and, eventually, rubs. Chile Slinger sauce was first mixed together in a little hunting cabin nestled in the forest of the Chautauqua Hills in southeast Kansas in the early 1990s. I tinkered and toyed with my recipe in a handful of other kitchens through the years before settling on the perfect Original blend, which is on the market today.

Chile Slinger sauces maintain the unique taste of an authentic barbecue product that many find exciting and willing to try over and over again.

The feedback of customers – those who are satisfied and those who have suggestions – are always welcome, so please don't hesitate to share your feedback with me.
